Whilst doing school drop off of my daughter today who is in Year 1, I noticed a driver driving passed the front of the school with no hands on his steering wheel, holding a phone texting intensely looking down and using his knees to control his steering wheel. I was just shocked at the sheer recklessness of his behaviour in front of my daughter's primary school when there were so many children in the vicinity or close proximity. 

We hear these stories on the news time and time again of how these dangerous drivers cause injury and death to unsuspecting people on the roads and nearby footpaths or areas. 

I condemn such behaviour and do not understand how a grown adult cannot realise that they are risking the safety of other road users, pedestrians and children nearby when making the choice to text whilst driving.

My suggestion is simple and may be obvious. Instead of shaking our head in disapproval and walking away, report it to the Local Police Station. I know I did. We just may end up saving someone's life!
